: : : : : I recently acquired a book of complete formulae for the Majestic Bottling Co. which was hand typed by the chemist Wm. E.S. Stoneman. The company is listed in the 1922 San Francisco city directory. Can anyone share information on this company or chemist?
: : : : According to the San Francisco City Directories (available at the San Francisco Public Library - Newspaper Center):
: : : : This is the listing in the 1922 directory
: : : : "Majestic Bottling Co., J W Goetze pres, E H Goetze sec, mfrs ginger ale and exclusive bottlers Hires, Coco [Coca] Cola and Whistle, 36 Beideman nr Ellis, tel West 373."
: : : : Your chemist, Wm Stoneman may be Stanley Stoneman, who appears in 1921 (but not 1919, 1920 or 1922, 1923):
: : : : "Stoneman, Stanley chemist r 1177 Ellis"

: : I recently found a bottle in an excavation for a new building here in San Francisco. It is straight sided and is molded with "Majestic Beverage" below the neck and "Majestic Bottling Co. Cal. Bottle registered. Contents 6 1/2 fld ozs"
: We also recently found a 6 1/2 oz bottle in the basement of an old house in Oakland. it is the same as described above by Ron. it does have some manufacturing wear at the bottom. We sell on ebay and plan on putting it up for auction soon under the ID of vallejo_carl. Karen and David
I found a bottle in a pre 1906 EQ building that survived the fire. It has original paper labeling and embossing. It is in great shape and the label reads "Majestic Ginger Ale" Majestic Bottling Co SAN FRANCISCO CAL 6 FLUID OZ. The embossing reads "PLUTO WATER AMERICA'S PHYSIO" above paper label and an embossed devil with the word PLUTO on the bottom of the bottle. looking for history and value
