I am writing on the recommendation of Catherine Hanson-Tracy, California State Library.

I recently visited the San Francisco City Hall, the Assessor/Recorder's office in particular. Due to the work that I am doing in Afghanistan for the re-construction of their property records after 25 years of war and destruction, I thought that the experience of San Francisco in such re-construction after the 1906 earthquake and fires would be useful.

Do you have any reports, books, or other descriptions of how San Francisco went about reconstructing its property records after the 1906 disaster?
