According to the San Francisco City Directory of 1890,

"New Western Hotel, Gallagher and Stanley proprietors, cor Kearny and Washington"

There is a listing for it in the San Francisco Directory of 1907,

"New Western Hotel, 808 Kearny"

You can take a look at it's general layout in a Sanborn Map of 1900:

As of today (July 2008), it's a parking lot.

As for advertisements and articles, you may find something in the older newspaper indexes,
