44-year Marin resident
Norman McCollom of Corte Madera died on Friday, Nov. 30, 1990, of pneumonia at Kaiser Hospital of Terra Linda. He was 93.
Mr. McCollom was born in Kansas City and moved to California in 1909. Norman came to Corte Madera in 1946.
He served in World War I as a second lieutenant in field artillery in the army and as an educational officer in World War II.
Mr. McCollom was the superintendent of the Lassen Union High School and Junior College in Susanville for five years, prior to World War II. He was the principal of the College of Marin Extension program at San Quentin State Prison for 15 years, before retiring in 1960.
Mr. McCollom and his wife of 72 years, Eulalia, enjoyed traveling together throughout the United States and Europe. Eulalia McCollom died in March.
He is survived by a granddaughter, Cynthia McCollom of Corte Madera. A son, John, died previously.
No services will be held.
