Robert V. Attley, 64, of San Anselmo, a resident of Marin County for 39 years, died yesterday in a Richmond hospital after a short illness.
Attley, a native of Durham, England, was a member of the Royal Flying Corps during World War I. He worked as a machinist for the 12th Naval District until two years ago when he retired.
Attley lived at 30 Durham Road. He was a member of Marin Lodge 191, Free and Accepted Masons.
He is survived by his wife, Amy M. Attley; two daughters, Mrs. Anne Foster of Fairfax and Mrs. Margaret McDonald of Boston, and four grandchildren.
Private family funeral services will be conducted by the Marin lodge tomorrow at Harry M. Williams Mortuary in San Rafael.
A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the father-in-law of Michael McDonald and Charles Foster, and grandfather of Tod, Susan, Kathryn and Nancy Foster.
