Two Men Killed In Auto Accident
An accident which resulted in the death of two men and the injury of two others occurred Friday when a machine carrying its four occupants rounded a curve on the Belvedere-Tiburon road near Alto and overturned.
Marcus Jackson, of Sausalito, an employee of the Mason Distilling Co., and Joseph Malone, a saleman for the John Bruener Furniture Co., of San Francisco, were killed. Harry Morton, also with the Breuner company, and Henry Gerdeau, a Sausalito saloon man, were badly bruised and scratched.
The theory of those who were called to the scene immediately is that in rounding the turn the machine skidded and one of the rear wheels collapsed. A woman living near the curve told the officers that while she did not see the machine approaching, she heard a noise and turned in time to see the car turn over twice. It was found standing upright.
Coroner Sawyer took charge of the two bodies and later they were turned over to the sorrowing relatives.
Jackson was well known and popular in Southern Marin. He leaves a widow and three little children, two of whom are twins.
Malone has made a number of trips in Marin county and is also known here. He was unmarried.
The Jackson funeral was held in Sausalito last Sunday and was largely attended.
