A funeral for George Clark Carlson of San Anselmo, retired moving firm owner, was to be held this morning at Keatonís Mortuary in San Rafael.

Mr. Carlson died Tuesday at the Bayside Convalescent Hospital in Kentfield after a long illness. He was 73.

He was a native of Greenville, Utah. He had lived in San Anselmo for 45 years.

Mr. Carlson was a truck driver and had operated his own business for 10 years, Carlsonís Moving and Storage in San Rafael.

A longtime bowler, he participated in many leagues during the years.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Helen Carlson of San Anselmo; three brothers, Stanley Clark of Visalia, Donald Clark of Sunnyvale, Sherman Banks of Rohnert Park; and two sisters, Elizabeth Murphy of Novato [and] Audrey Lloyd of Redlands.

Burial was to be at Valley Memorial Park in Novato.
