Frank B. Anderson, Bank of Cal. Head, Dies in S. F. Tuesday
Death took Frank Bartow Anderson, 72, chairman of the board of directors of the Bank of California, Tuesday at his home in San Francisco after an illness of several months. He was at one time a resident of San Rafael.
Anderson was one of banking’s most outstanding figures in the West. He rose rapidly from a position as bank clerk in New York City, and at the time of his death was also a director of the Pacific Gas and Electric Co., and a member of the board of trustees at Stanford.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth J. Anderson; a son, Berrien P. Anderson of San Rafael and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Anderson Butterfield.
