Marian Gay Albanese
Feb. 28, 1942 - Feb. 15. 2015
Gay as she was known to friends and neighbors, passed away at home two weeks before her 73rd birthday. She had no known family. Born in San Francisco she was a life long San Rafael resident. Only child of the late Joseph and Margaret Emma (Lewis) Albanese. Her father a teacher and insurance agent. Her mother an internationally acclaimed poet. As a child she traveled the states extensively with her family, living a year in Mexico with her mother. In the early days of the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, Gay was a dedicated volunteer, often recalling her enjoyment of working with the animals, regardless of how bad the weather became. She was a self employed housekeeper who enjoyed volunteering at places such as the San Rafael Police Department and Falkirk Cultural Center. Quite an artist, her work was lovely. She took pleasure in attending many art festivals. No service is planned at this time. Her desire was to support the Marin Humane Society. Remembrances in her name would be appreciated.
