Survivors are his wife, Caroline Schmidt; a son, Lorenz L. Schmidt of San Rafael; two daughters, Carol Abraham of San Rafael and Marie L. Early of the Monterey Peninsula, and two brothers, Bernhardt Schmidt, formerly of San Anselmo and now of the Monterey Peninsula, and Max Schmidt of Atherton.

Private funeral was held today at Keatonís Mortuary with burial in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the donorís favorite charity.
