Henry F. Catala
Henry F. Catala of San Rafael, retired co-owner of a San Rafael dry-cleaning firm, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 1989, at Marin General Hospital after a long illness. He was 73.
Mr. Catala was a native of San Francisco but had lived in Marin since infancy.
He was co-owner of the Van Der Maelen Cleaners for manyyears.
Mr. Catala was a member of the Marin Council Y.M.I. No. 10. He also was a former member of the Elks Club. He also was an avid golfer.
His wife, Carolyn Catala of San Rafael, described him as a “warm-hearted man with a wonderful sense of humor.”
The Catalas had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last August.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Catala is survived by a son, Henry L. “Lee” Catala of San Jose; a brother, Alfred Catala of San Rafael.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Raphael’s Church in San Rafael.
Interment will be private at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The family asks that memorial contributions be sent to a charity of choice.
Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael handled arrangements.
