Seventeen-year-old Wade Lansing Rothschild, one of the charter members of the Marin County chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Assn., lost a nine-year fight for life Tuesday. He died in a Santa Rosa hospital.

Funeral services for the youth, who lived in Marin County for almost nine years before moving to Santa Rosa in 1953, will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Eggen and Lance Mortuary in Santa Rosa. Interment will be in Santa Rosa Memorial Park.

A native of South San Francisco, Wade was brought to Corte Madera by his parents shortly after his birth and two years later moved to San Anselmo where he stayed for six years.

He contracted muscular dystrophy when he was 8 years old in 1951. His parents joined with seven other couples who children were muscular dystrophy patients to form the Marin County chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Assn.

For the last several years Wade attended school in Santa Rosa in a wheelchair. He did not attend school last term.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rothschild, owners of a Santa Rosa milk delivery business; a brother David, 13; sister Alice, 14; three grandparents, Arthur Rothschild of Corte Madera, Mrs. Esther Wade of San Francisco and Harold Wade of El Verano, Sonoma County, and two great-grandmothers.
