Meets Death Beneath Wheels of Train
Edward C. Mahar, a resident of San Francisco, met a horrible death at San Anselmo last Friday night, when he was run down by an electric train near the power house and instantly killed.
Mahar, with a companion, was walking along the track. Suddenly an electric train appeared on the curve. It whistled its warning and Maharís friend who was slightly in the lead, stepped from the rails. Immediately he heard another shriek of the whistle and then the grinding of brakes. He looked back, but Mahar had already been struck and his body in charge by Coroner Sawyer and later shipped to San Francisco when interment was made.
The deceased was quite well known in this city. He was 35 years of age.
